Team Henry Enterprises recognized by VDOT on Quality Construction Award Team
During the annual Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance meeting, Team Henry was recognized along with Abernathy Construction Corp, as the recipients of the 2008 Construction Quality Award for the Temple Avenue Ramp Improvements project.
The Construction Quality Award annually recognizes a project team whose work exemplifies the best in construction quality, project inspection and overall project management.
The project included the construction of a new 2,900 foot ramp from Temple Avenue west to I-95 north. Heavy traffic, a constrained work space, an environmentally sensitive work site over a live stream, an adjacent military base and high public visibility contributed to the challenges of the project. In the end, a visually appealing structure, improved level of service to motorists and increased safety won this project the best of the year!
In addition to providing the protection of the environmentally sensitive work site over a live stream, Team Henry was instrumental in reducing project cost by willing to apply a more innovative slope vegetation application.
